Hartsop Fold nestles in an unspoilt valley of the Lake District, near Ullswater. The site exudes peace and quiet, encouraging regular visits by red squirrels and badgers, and many varieties of birdlife. It's the ideal place to 'get away from it all'. The established development of twelve lodges blends sympathetically with the natural beauty of the area. 

Lakeland offers such a wide variety of things to do and see. Whether you choose to walk on the open fells, along woodland walks, riverside paths, lake shores, coastal paths or mountain peaks, they're all within easy reach. You could even abandon your car for the whole of your stay and walk straight from the doorstep of your lodge.

There is a range of lodges available sleeping up to 4 people, all offering open plan living area with a well-equipped kitchen, dining and siting area, ideal for a self-catering base in the Lake District. Some lodges are pet friendly which is great as with all the delightful walks and dog walking areas on offer your VIP family member will be equally spoilt.

How to get there

FROM THE NORTH AND EAST: Take the A66 out of Penrith, the A592 to Glenridding. This brings you along the shores of Lake Ullswater to Patterdale. Hartsop is about 2 miles further on. FROM THE WEST: Take the A66 out of Keswick, then the A5091 to Ullswater, Patterdale and Hartsop. FROM THE SOUTH: Scenic route: Leave the M6 at junction 36 and take the A591 to Windermere, then the A592 across the Kirkstone Pass. Having descended, take the first turn right, then immediately left at the Patterdale Footpath sign. Faster route: Continue on the M6 to junction 40 and then follow the directions as from the North and East.
