We were privileged to be invited to stay at Faringdon Grange in Oxfordshire recently, the latest holiday park being developed by Oakgrove Lodges.
Our weekend at Faringdon Grange was a welcome retreat in a luxury lodge where we enjoyed watching the Coronation on the UHD TV. Netflix and all the other Apps you’d expect to find on a Smart TV were available. We were also able to stay in touch with the outside world with the superfast WiFi connection. When we checked, download speed was approx. 250 mb.
We stayed in the Oakgrove Tamarack, a 4 bedroomed lodge and exploring our home for the next few days was exciting. Each room was beautifully decorated, with all the amenities we could wish for. We found the layout easy to explore with some hidden surprises and clever design features; the concealed en-suites were a particular delight.
The open plan accommodation is versatile and spacious giving larger groups a choice of communal seating options. The French doors from the living area lead on to the patio, effortlessly connecting to the outside for some alfresco dining.
The fully fitted kitchen had all the appliances you could wish for, including the all important coffee machine and lots of counter space where we were able to indulge in cooking some of our favourite meals.
With so many bedrooms, the lodge offered a multitude of options for future visits. Group or family visits would be easily catered for utilising the two double rooms, both with en-suites and two twin bedrooms with a shared family shower room. The beds were very comfy, resulting in one of the best night’s sleep I’ve had in a long time!
During our stay, we made full use of the large hot tub, which was thoughtfully screened at the side of the lodge and offered maximum privacy.
Outdoor seating on the terrace meant we were able to fully appreciate the view down to the lake, get comfy with a book and really relax in our surroundings.
During our stay, we were lucky enough to see lots of the resident wildlife. Baby fox cubs trotting past the windows at night, deer grazing next to the lodge early in the morning, two Canadian geese families and the birdsong was also very relaxing.
On the Sunday, we decided to do some sightseeing and take a look at what the local area had to offer. We visited Millets Farm Centre, just a 10 minute drive from the park and well worth a visit. We then went for a drive through some of the prettiest countryside and Cotswolds villages, which really deserve a repeat visit. There are National Trust properties, Burford (and all the other beautiful villages), Swindon Outlet Village, Cotswold Wildlife Park, various museums, leisure centres, the list goes on… there really is something for everyone!
Would we stay at Faringdon Grange again? Absolutely! This is a real hidden gem.
Lodges are also available to purchase here, that would be great as your family holiday home, or as a buy to let holiday investment.
